Woman liked how lottery ticket ‘scratched.’ So she picked it and won the jackpot
A Missouri woman was left in disbelief after she won a huge jackpot on a scratch-off lottery ticket.
The woman knew which ticket she wanted to buy when she went into the O’Fallon store, but she had no idea how much she would win, according to a Nov. 3 news release from the Missouri Lottery.
“I just liked the way it scratched when I first played it,” she told lottery officials.
She was talking about the 50X Scratchers ticket.
“So I thought I’d just get one of those,” she said.
Then, she “couldn’t believe what she saw” after scratching the ticket.
She won the game’s top prize of $100,000.
“I had won some little prizes before but nothing like that,” she said. “It came at the perfect time.”
As of Nov. 3, there is more than $6.5 million in unclaimed prizes, including four top prizes of $100,000 and four $20,000 prizes.
O’Fallon is about a 35-mile drive northwest from St. Louis.
