French inflation confirmed at 2.5% in April, highest since July 2024

EU-harmonised consumer prices in France rose 2.5% year-on-year in April, statistics office INSEE said on Wednesday, confirming a preliminary reading published late last month and marking the highest rate since July 2024.

The EU-harmonised inflation rate in the bloc's second biggest economy accelerated in April, compared with the March reading of 2.0%. On a month-on-month basis, EU-harmonised prices rose 1.2%, also confirming the preliminary reading.
