Merced County voters will head to the polls for the 2026 primary election June 2. That’s also the deadline to turn in mail-in ballots.

To get more information about the candidates running for local office, the Merced County Farm Bureau will host a forum May 13. It will be held at the UC Cooperative Extension Office, 2145 Wardrobe Ave. in Merced.

The candidate forum will be start at 6 p.m. and be open to the public, according to a farm bureau Facebook post. There will be a 30-minute meet and greet at 5:30 p.m. The forum will be livestreamed on the bureau’s Facebook page.

The Facebook post features a QR code that allows the public to pose questions to the candidates. The deadline to submit a question is May 1. Questions can’t target a specific candidate, the post said.

The farm bureau has invited candidates for the following offices:

  • Congressional District 13

  • Assembly District 27
  • Merced County Supervisor Districts 3 and 5
  • Merced County superintendent of schools

The last day to register to vote for the primary election is May 18. County elections officials will begin mailing allots May 4.
