What precautions, if any, should California continue to take to cope with COVID-19 and its variants?

I think the way we are currently moving forward in regards to combating COVID is and has been effective. What we need to do now, which we weren’t prepared for last time, is having a system in place that keeps economic stability and certainty afloat in a time of crisis – a relief fund of sorts that is untouched.

California provided cash support to individuals and small businesses during the pandemic. To what extent should that assistance continue?

As a supporter of UBI (universal basic income), a form of this should continue, but universally.

What more would you do to address California’s housing crisis?

Reallocate funds from failing projects and failed institutions. The speed rail for example is already over 100B$ and that money could be better spent providing housing, mental health and drug rehabilitation to Californians.

What should California do to build up its middle class?

The majority of taxes paid in this state is paid for by middle and lower class Californians. We need the rich multimillionaire and multibillionaires to start paying their fair share!

Would you propose any new policies to address climate change?

Provide actual alternative solutions in forms of new energy. Banning plastic straws and bags sounds good, but in reality does nothing to actually help the greater issue of climate change. When we are reliant on an electrical grid 89% powered by coal and oil, we are not making any progress in the fight against climate change. We must phase out oil for cleaner and more sustainable forms of energy. Nuclear Power, though it doesn’t have the best PR, objectively is the safest, most renewable, and cleanest form of energy we have yet to produce!

What should California do in the long term to address wildfire and drought conditions?

Clear the brush, invest in forest fire prevention, set up lines, and control burns.
