What precautions, if any, should California continue to take to cope with COVID-19 and its variants?

COVID-19 and mutants are a virus similar in symptoms to the common cold. Our opportunistic government has held onto it to scare the people and then control them. Government has the responsibility to inform the people with the facts as soon as the data are available. How to deal with the virus by way of reasoned suggestions. LEAVE THE RESPONSE UP TO EACH INDIVIDUAL. DO NOT OPERATE FROM A FEAR MODEL. The voter can supposedly make sound decisions; and this is the case with an individual’s response to this virus. Respect the person’s decision.

California provided significant cash support to individuals and small businesses who suffered during the pandemic, with billions of dollars allocated for rent relief and small-business grants. To what extent should that assistance continue?

Government policy has controlled the populace in CA and has terrified the ill informed. This policy has destroyed the economy and herded some of the people into a corral of infantilization and dependence. These programs must end thus forcing mature adults to return to work and care for themselves and their families.

What more would you do to address California’s housing crisis?

There has always been a ebb and flow of available housing whether for landlords or renters. The people have always solved their own problems without government “help.” Government must stop perpetuating the myth of a “housing crisis”.

What should California do to build up its middle class?

Thanks to governmental interference in our culture in CA, the middle class is shrinking especially since the hard workers are leaving the state. The “middle class” will sort itself out by its own sociological momentum. “Problem solvers” in government should stand back and observe the ingenuity of the people. Creativity rises to the fore when government gets out of the way!

Would you propose any new policies to address climate change?

Here we go again with another government invented dooms day theme. The climate is always changing from day to night and from season to season. The fear used to be global cooling that lead to global warming and when that failed it is now global climate change. If change is God ordained, let us rejoice. If man’s activities are counter to nature, we need to collect unbiased empirical data in order to make sound decisions, individually or collectively. Stop geo-engineering now! Don’t mess with the dairy cows, chickens and pigs.

What should California do in the long term to address wildfire and drought conditions?

Wildfires: Thin the forests through logging and clear the underbrush. Water supply: Build off-stream reservoirs to capture snow melt and flood waters. FIX THE OROVILLE DAM IMMEDIATELY to avert a real crisis in CA.
