Joe Biden appears in public on Memorial Day after staying home for months in pandemic

Former Vice President Joe Biden left his home for his first public appearance in months on Memorial Day.

The presumptive Democratic nominee for president has stayed home during the coronavirus pandemic since March, campaigning from home with social media and videos instead of the usual slate of campaign events, The Associated Press reported.

Photos show Biden and his wife, Jill, laying a wreath at the Delaware Memorial Bridge Veterans Memorial Park near his home in Wilmington, according to Bloomberg News reporter Jennifer Epstein.

Other photos show Biden, who wore a black face mask, with U.S. Secret Service, according to NBC News reporter Kelly O’Donnell.

“I feel great to be out here.” Biden said, according to the AP.

Never forget the sacrifices that these men and women made,” Biden said. “Never, ever, ever forget.”

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump attended a Memorial Day event at Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland with First Lady Melania Trump.
