If you have this pepper, return any bottles to the store where you bought them for a full refund. Your questions about this recall can be answered by calling Dearborn, Michigan-based UBC at 313-846-8117, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The CDC says salmonella strikes 1.35 million in the United States each year. Most people suffer diarrhea, stomachaches and fever for four to seven days and get better without medical attention. About 26,500 get hospitalized with bloody diarrhea and about 420 are killed.
