Another 1,000 cases of baby powder recalled. They might have cancer-causing asbestos
The recall of Dynacare Baby Powder, which that might have “known carcinogen” asbestos, was expanded by 1,020 cases Tuesday.
Dynarex, which made the original recall in September after FDA testing found asbestos in baby powder, said in its recall release: “Upon further investigation, we have identified additional lots of products that may contain asbestos due to using the same bulk talc material. The company has ceased the distribution of the product as an investigation is proceeding to determine what caused the contamination of the talc.”
The original recall covered 14-ounce bottles from batch No. B051 with expiration date Dec. 28, 2026. They were sold on Amazon and went to distributors in Florida, North Carolina, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, New Jersey, Tennessee, Washington and Wisconsin.

Tuesday’s expansion covers 14-ounce bottles from batch Nos. B048, B049, B050, B051, and B052 with 2026 expiration dates Oct. 30, oct. 31, Nov. 1, Dec. 28 and Dec. 29, respectively; and 4-ounce bottles from batch Nos. B053, B054, B055, B056, B057, B058, B059 and B060 with respective expiration dates Dec. 31, 2026, Jan. 2, Jan. 3, Jan. 4, Jan. 5, Jan. 7, Jan. 30 and Jan. 31, 2027.
These bottles were sold on Amazon and went to distributors in Florida, North Carolina, California, Texas, Kentucky, Missouri, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin.
