1.1 million oven gloves have been recalled. Users’ hands have come out burned
Oven gloves that come in five prints might not accomplish their one raison d’etre, which is why QVC recalled almost 1.1 million Temp-tations Oven Gloves this week.
“The oven gloves can fail to provide sufficient protection from heat, posing a burn hazard to consumers,” the U.S. Consumer Product Commission-posted recall notice explains.
That hazard turned into painful reality for the 92 customers that reported minor burns to QVC. The TV shopping network also received another 70 reports of “insufficient heat protection.”

The ineffective gloves were sold in red, yellow, blue, floral and summer shell prints with model Nos. K51459, K76398, K47973, K48879, K85322, K96004, K92603, K308719, K309220, K309388 and K309516. For six years ending in August, you could buy them off QVC shows, on QVC’s website and other QVC digital shopping platforms alone or as part of kitchen sets.
QVC wants customers to reach out to the company for a refund on the gloves. You can go to the recall-dedicated website, call 888-770-7119, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eastern time or email at ovengloves@realtimeresults.net.
