Italian chocolates have been recalled and might be a serious health threat. Here’s why
Chocolates made in Italy have been recalled nationwide for a packaging problem that can be a serious health problem.
D. Coluccio & Sons’ recall notice said two lots of its Colussi Cantuccini Chocolate Drops might have almonds, but the 300-gram blue bags might not tell the consumer about the tree nuts. While that’s not a problem for most, “people who have allergies to tree nuts (almonds) run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.”
D. Coluccio said it found out about the problem through the Italian manufacturer’s recall notice.
Recalled bags have UPC code No. 8002590006020 and are from lot Nos. 3540152 BBD 15-01-2025 and L354150 BBD 29-05-2025. Lot numbers can be found on the back of the bag.
If there’s any chance someone with a tree nut allergy will eat these chocolate drops, return them for a refund. Any questions about this recall can be directed to 718-436-6700, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Eastern time or customerservice@dcoluccioandsons.com.
