The potentially ‘life-threatening’ reason frozen food got recalled from Whole Foods stores
Frozen snack foods sold under Whole Foods Market’s 365 store brand got recalled nationwide for not being what the packaging says, an annoying mistake to some people but a possibly fatal one to other customers.
The FDA-posted recall notice from manufacturer C.H. Guenther & Son says 365 Whole Foods Market Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese in 8-ounce boxes might contain undeclared meat and eggs.
Eggs are an allergen and, as the notice states, “People who have allergies to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction is they consume this product.”
Along with Whole Foods customers with an egg allergy, those who avoid meat probably wouldn’t be happy with a recurrence of the way Guenther & Son learned of the problem: “a consumer complaint that the product contained meat and was not a macaroni and cheese bite.”
This covers boxes with a UPC code No. 99482499709, a best by date of 11/29/25 and would’ve been sold between Feb. 6 and Tuesday.
Return the boxes to the store for a full refund. Direct questions to Guenther & Son at 210-227-1401.
