Weather warning for Merced County for possible thunder storms, high winds and hail
The National Weather Service put out a severe thunder storm and heavy wind warming for parts of Merced County on Wednesday night.
The weather warning warning was for the far western part of Merced County, south of Los Banos, according to David Spector, who is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Hanford.
Residents in that area can expect severe thunder storms, heavy winds reaching has high as 60 mph and quarter-size hail, according to Spector.
The warning was in effect until 9 p.m. with cloudy skies until around midnight.
“People should try to avoid driving in that area and people who live in that area should take shelter,” Spector said.
The forecasts calls for clear skies in Merced County on Thursday with temperatures expected to reach 100 degrees.
