On Sunday at 10:27 a.m. the NWS Reno NV issued a lake wind advisory valid for Monday between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. for Lake Tahoe.

The NWS informs, "Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and waves 1 to 3 feet for Lake Tahoe. Waves highest from mid-lake to eastern shores."

"Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve," explains the NWS. "Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind."

This advisory is in effect until Monday at 10 p.m.
