UPDATE: Lake wind advisory issued for Kern River Valley until Friday midday

The NWS Hanford CA issued an updated lake wind advisory at 4:44 p.m. on Thursday in effect until Friday at noon for Kern River Valley.

The NWS informs, "Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph."

"Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft," explains the NWS. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects."

This advisory is in effect until Friday at noon.
