Another storm to roll through Merced County. Here’s what to expect
If the old adage that “April showers bring May flowers” holds true, Merced County residents can expect some pretty blooms next month.
A short but strong storm is expected to roll through the area this week, according to the National Weather Services.
There’s a 30% chance of rain after 11 a.m. Monday, with wind gusts as high as 20 mph. The high temperature is expected to be 83 degrees.
Showers, and possibly a thunderstorm, are expected after 11 a.m. Tuesday. New rainfall amounts could total between a half to three-quarters of an inch. Tuesday’s high temperature is expected to be 63.
Rain could continue Wednesday, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m., the NWS says.
The weather is expected to clear on Thursday, with sunny conditions and high temperatures in the mid-70s expected through the weekend.
According to Weather.com’s 10-day forecast, skies should be clear through the end of April, with high temperatures ranging from the high 70s to low 80s.
California weather has been unpredictable as of late, swinging from warm, sunny days to rain and thunderstorms within a matter of days.
Snow is forecast for Yosemite National Park, starting Monday.
