On Friday at 1:18 a.m. the NWS Reno NV released a lake wind advisory valid for Saturday between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. for Mono County.

The NWS informs, "Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph for Topaz Lake, Bridgeport Reservoir, Mono Lake, and Crowley Lake."

"Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve," explains the NWS. "Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind."
