Don Martin: Is it OK that our nation is on verge of demise?
Seventy-five years ago I lived in a moral society. Then, someone decided prayer in schools was of discriminatory and we, as a nation said, “It’s OK,” so prayer was out. Mention of God in public facilities was determined to be discriminatory, so we said, “It’s OK” and out went the Ten Commandments and any mention of God. Someone decided to modify words related to sin: Adultery became “an affair;” homosexuality became “gay activity;” the use of drugs became “casual entertainment” and we said, “It’s OK.”
Morality, the art of lying, at the highest level of government began to flow at a rapid pace and we said, “It’s OK.” Abortion, unheard of at one point, became the law of the land so over 50 million babies were aborted and we said, “It’s OK.” And so our once moral, faith-based nation, was on a path to hell and we said ... Well, what do we say? Apathy is our demise, unless we, as a nation, decide otherwise.
