Delmar Thorson: Clinton’s handling of classified documents disqualifies her
There is a myriad of reasons not to elect Hillary Clinton, but the one issue that disqualifies her is national security. By the very nature of her position as Secretary of State, her words, spoken or written, created classified information. It is not the markings that make a document classified, it is the information it contains that requires it to be marked.
While in the military, I held a security clearance one step below Clinton’s, so I have personal experience in protecting some of our nation’s most sensitive secrets. Had I mishandled just one classified document, I would have immediately lost my security clearance, most likely been court-martialed, and never again allowed to hold a security clearance. Clinton has admitted she “made a mistake,” but wants to be promoted. Whether intentional or not, she has proven unqualified to hold a security clearance, let alone the highest in the country. Donald Trump has admitted to having a potty mouth, but Clinton has taken the people’s trust and our nation’s secrets and flushed them down the potty.
