Ron Aragon: Builder deeper reservoirs, use solar to pump water
Instead of building large, costly dams that flood the entire landscape and displace humans and the natural flora and fauna of the region, isn’t it time to build much larger and deeper reservoirs to hold water rather than flood northern and central California? Drinking and irrigation water can then be pumped out using wind power, and in most cases solar power. UC Merced can help a lot with solar power being their greatest area of expertise.
