Kent Amberson: Scammers want your Social Security number; be careful
The other day, a man called and said he was checking on a complaint my wife had with Humana Insurance. He said his name Paul and that he worked for Social Security Administration. He said there was a problem with her name on the complaint and he also asked for her Social Security number. She said, and I said, if he was in fact working for Medicare, he damned well better know her Social Security Number. After a couple of minutes, he gave up.
