Connie Warren: Why are elected officials exempt from Republican healthcare ‘reform’?

This has been suggested before, but bears repeating: More people from all political parties might be willing to at least take a closer look at the GOP healthcare act if one of the provisions abolished the current system in place for all federal employees, including elected federal office holders, and required that they be covered under the new system. This would include Supreme Court Justices, Senators, Representatives and the janitors who clean all those buildings. Oh, and POTUS.

This won’t happen, of course, and shouldn’t. It’s a nonsensical suggestion, would not work and would hurt an awful lot of people. But then, so will the Republican healthcare act.
