Lloyd Stark: Tattoo of gun troubling

Re “Going Polynesian at festival” (Page A1, March 23): While I have nothing against tattoos in general, I believe that the cover picture of a young dancer at the Tahitian festival warrants concern. Surely your photographer or editor could have chosen another picture than one of a dancer with a tattoo of a gun on her arm. I am troubled by the message this tattoo sends – especially to younger children reading your newspaper. Celebrate the dancers and the cultural events we have to offer, but nix the mixed messages with guns.
