Roy Stone: Players can boycott, but so can I; goodbye NFL
This is my first attempt of expressing my opinion on any type of social media, but it might not be my last. I have been an avid fan of the NFL since my high school days and I do not deny the players the right to protest under the breadth of our constitution. But I sure as hell deny them the moral right to desecrate the American National Anthem, flag and values of all good Americans.
A country that affords them their million-dollar paydays, and loyal Americans who contribute to their obscene salaries, is certainly deserving of respect. Not forgetting the thousands who have given their lives or mobility, and those who grieve for their loss, are responsible for that freedom. It allows them the privilege to play their “game” and live their lives of excess.
I would consider no less insulting if they attempted to spit on our flag. I was told today of a request on Facebook for an NFL boycott on Nov.12. My boycott started with the Monday Night game and will last the rest of the season. I’ll also boycott the sponsors and advertisers, if I find a list. My right, my privilege.
