Samuel Molina: Valley congressmen must act to save our health care
The latest moves by President Trump to undermine the Affordable Care Act put the health of children, seniors, veterans and people with pre-existing conditions at risk. But Central Valley’s Republican representatives could help change this.
Since the GOP couldn’t repeal and replace the ACA, the President decided to disrupt insurance coverage by allowing “skinny” policies that skirt the rules of the ACA, and to take away subsidies to insurance companies that help low-income people pay for their coverage. There may be a bipartisan deal in the Senate to continue the subsidies for two years, but if it fails to materialize, then Valley congressmen David Valadao, Jeff Denham, Devin Nunes and Kevin McCarthy need to protect our communities’ access to affordable health care. We vote and we are watching to make sure our representatives preserve our health care and jobs.
