Jim Munday: Don’t let Gonzalves turn MID into an outhouse

To my utter surprise I saw a billboard off Highway 99 promoting the public-crapping, once-jailed, accused water-thieving Kevin Gonzalves for re-election to the Merced Irrigation District Board.

Voters: Don’t be fooled by his “Your Water, your community” slogan. While we all suffered through the drought this man allegedly stole $200,000 worth of water from MID and crapped on this community. He would have never been elected in the first place if the public knew his crappy criminal record. We all know now thanks to the Sun-Star reporting. Unseat him and vote elsewhere. Do your due diligence and search his name online. You will find the exact opposite of what you would want from a publicly elected official.

I trust the voters this time around to clean up that seat on November 7.
