Robert Nutcher: McDaniel is Merced’s best supervisor
Re “McDaniel turns away” (Letters, April 20): I can’t understand the point of trying to criticize the best supervisor we have in this county, Daron McDaniel.
The writer of the letter must not realize that when people call Daron (not necessarily his constituents) to tell him they have trash in their orchard or place of business, Daron gets off his butt and goes and picks it up himself.
We need more supervisors like him – who have actually run a successful business, don’t feel its their right to take our tax dollars and throw it around so that people will vote for them, or feel that it is their God-given right to live off of the taxpayers backs in this county.
An election is coming and the other supervisors better take notice of how Daron does business, because there are plenty of people who do see it and will support people to oust the political class that can’t remember what JFK (a Democrat said): “Ask not what your country (or county) can do for you, ask what you can do for your country (county).”
