David E. Contreras: Why no concessions at Merced College sporting events?
Why is there no concessionaire at Merced Junior College basketball games? My brother and I have attended the Lady Blue Devils games quite often this year. The fans have been very supportive and cheer them on. The games are at the dinner hour and there is nothing to eat or drink. This has gone on all season. Fans have to get something from the eateries nearby before the games and bring it into the gym. Why aren’t there any concessions at the basketball games?
Last Saturday we attended a baseball game at 1 p.m. and the basketball game at 3 p.m. Neither game had concessions. Fans can’t even buy a bottle of water.
Aren’t there any college organizations that want to make a few bucks? Organizations should be at every college event selling drinks and food to earn money for their groups. Whatever the reason, someone needs to fix this.
