Andre Griggs: Get involved in deciding how school money is spent

A quality education doesn’t just benefit one child or family. A quality education lifts the entire community. There is a new way of investing money in schools and students. It’s called the Local Control Funding Formula. It’s a state law that this money be invested in schools – and to the students – with the most need. It also requires that all schools engage parents, providers, students and community in identifying where the additional resources should be invested and what the highest needs are for all students.

LCFF money will ensure that all students go to school, stay in school and achieve academic overall success. We can all support student achievement by taking one step and engaging in your children’s school.
