Russell J. Morrison: Drought deepens, but politicans refuse to address consequences
I read where Livingston has cut back lawn watering to two days a week. San Diego has banned all lawn watering and I am sure there are other communities that have followed San Diego’s example of water rationing. There have been a few op-ed pieces suggesting that all lawn watering be banned and swimming pools to go dry. Lots of folks will be losing jobs when that happens.
But our representatives feel it is more important to debate banning the use of the name Redskins than trying to solve the water crisis. And of course there is our governor, who is determined to spend billions of dollars building a bullet train to nowhere rather than an aqueduct (the Romans built aqueducts that are still in use today) to bring water from our neighbors to the north who have an abundance.
