Pat Trieweiler: Mc-Sand-wich gets new meaning

As a 56-year-old male, I really felt the “generation gap” while waiting at a McDonald’s drive through. I left feeling completely baffled.

After the nice young man at the first pay window took my money he handed me an hour glass. I asked him “What in the name of Sam Hill is this?”

He replied that if all the sand empties in the glass by the time I got to the pickup window, my McMeal was free. So while waiting with hour glass in one hand and steering wheel in other, I waited with the other drivers with their hour glasses for my order. It made me wonder, do they really need dripping sand in hour glasses to achieve timely orders? The McDonald’s I go to has always been clean and timely with orders.

I thought the whole thing was McNuts. I’m curious as to whom in corporate came up with this SNL concept. At least they could have handed out cheap plastic digital timers. It is 2015 for goodness sakes.
