Roger Wibbels: Taxpayers should not be funding illegal activity

The recent piece on Planned Parenthood (“A Cynical attack on Planned Parenthood,” Our View, July 20) was decidedly one-sided and was designed to elicit sympathy for an organization that supposedly does so much good for our community. But the facts are that they are either an abortion clinic or abortion facilitator. They are funded in part by your tax dollars. The services provided by Planned Parenthood’s clinics are also provided by thousands of women’s health clinics across this country that are also government supported. So though some of their services are good, those services are also provided by many other facilities that don’t also provide abortions.

Bottom line: they exist to provide or help women get abortions, and have now moved into illegal activity by selling body parts; in so doing, we the taxpayers are funding illegal activity, not to mention just plain evil.

Roger Wibbels, Atwater
