Melvin Ladousier: Governor not so green after all
Gov. Jerry Brown, are we going green or not? Recent articles indicate the California Public Utilities Commission is considering PG&E’s proposal to lower the cap on solar power in the A-6 tariff from 500 KW to 75 KW and add demand charges. In effect, this would make investment in solar panels unprofitable for small businesses and make pay-back on residential solar take up to 20 years instead of the current five years.
Next, the governor is holding back on further development of desalinization in Southern California, preferring to divert water from the Delta to the south – environmental impact on the Delta be damned; the Governor wants his tunnels.
