Michael Belluomini: Warnke has experience, will stick around

I urge you to vote for Vern Warnke for Sheriff of Merced County. We are fortunate to have two experienced and skilled gentlemen running for sheriff. I recommend Warnke because his 35 years experience and training is specifically with the Sheriff’s Department and because the crucial factor of a successful leader is the loyalty and allegiance of those he is leading. Vern Warnke is endorsed by the Deputy Sheriffs Association; the current deputies want Vern as their leader.

Pat Lunney provides a valuable service to local crime prevention through his job as investigator for the District Attorney’s Office. If Lunney is elected someone will need to replace him at his current job, and Lunney will need time to learn the sheriff’s operations. At 66, Lunney might retire in four years and the voters will be choosing someone else new for the sheriff’s position. Warnke, at age 55, will likely seek reelection and provide continuity and consistency for eight to 12 years.

Warnke is coming out of retirement to work as a Sheriff. Take advantage of this opportunity to benefit from his skill and experience. Vote for Vern Warnke.

Michael Belluomini, Merced
