Judy Pfitzer-Boyer: Education matters, vote Lunney for Sheriff
As community members we have the opportunity and obligation to elect an extremely skilled, educated, talented and experienced individual for Sheriff. Pat Lunney far surpasses his challenger in investigative prowess and administrative and organizational professionalism.
Unlike his opponent, he has spent years honing his skills resulting in a diversified background of high-level management positions including Merced’s youngest Chief of Police (15 years) and California’s Department of Justice, Division of Law Enforcement, heading six bureaus and supervising over 1,400 employees.
Unlike his opponent, he spent time attending college after his shift work ultimately obtaining a Master’s degree. We should no longer bestow this high level position to someone who has not obtained a bachelor’s degree.
Lunney will recognize talent within the department and develop it. He will reach beyond our boundaries in collaboration with regional and state officials for funding assisting in the control of serious crime. This is not the time to provide on the job training to a dedicated officer but the time to elect Pat Lunney for the experience and management skills he already possesses and he can use if we provide him the opportunity.
