Fred Warchol: Glad Gray withstood mud avalanche

It’s quite a feat for one to withstand $1 million worth of mud being thrown during a political campaign, and come out clean. But Adam Gray did that, and still came out a winner.

He was challenged for his seat in the Assembly by (now) four-time loser Jack Mobley. The tactics used by Mobley’s campaign broke new ground in the annals of dirty campaigning. He accused Gray of everything, from accepting his paycheck, to smoking $600 cigars.

Mobley was so focused on personal attacks, he failed to address a single pertinent issue confronting the 21st District. The only surprise is that he didn’t claim that Gray is responsible for burning down orphanages.

Our district was treated to something rarely seen in Amercia; Anthony Cannella and Kristen Olsen, both Republicans, along with Democrat Adam Gray putting partisan politics aside and working together to address our critical water shortage by promoting the water bond. We can only dream of this kind of cooperation taking place in Washington.

Fred Warchol, Atwater
