David J. Silva: America, Europe must confront Islamic State now

There are hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing the conflict in Syria, trying to get into Europe; some will eventually come to America. The reason for this mass exodus is the Islamic State, a radical arm of Islam waging war on Christians and anyone who doesn’t agree with them.

In the 1930s, Hitler was causing trouble in Europe. To prevent another war, America and European governments tried to appease him. That didn’t work, and Germany started World War II. Because of the time he gained through appeasement, his military was much more powerful and millions of people died.

ISIS must be stopped now! They are fanatics and prepared to die for their beliefs. This means that America and the European governments must work together to defeat ISIS. In this time of weapons of mass destruction, they could kill millions in a very short period of time. A liberal newspaper recently published an article stating the reason ISIS is at war is because Bush and Chaney invaded Iraq. This is a very unreasonable theory. If that is the case, what was the reason for the 9/11 attack on America, that was planned for years, was that Bush’s fault also?
