Vic Hurlburt: Merced can be proud of its support for veterans
The last few weeks were a busy time for VFW Post 4327. Our two-day Buddy Poppy Drive was a resounding success. We set up donation tables at Paul’s Place, Save Mart and Walgreens, all on G Street. The money collected goes to support the VFW National Home for Children, our local Post relief fund and programs that benefit returning veterans. We participated in the Veterans Day parade and tried to recognize veterans in the crowd and hand out candy to the kids.
Mercedians have proved over and over that they fully support the military presence. I say “Carry on.”
Vic Hurlburt, Adjutant, VFW Post 4327, Merced
