George Regalo: Best way to prevent rioting? Obey the law

Re “Steps to prevent another Ferguson” (Page B2, Dec. 5): The Michigan State professor listed five steps to prevent another Ferguson. To summarize, he suggested 1) More police cameras; 2) demilitarize the police; 3) stop racial profiling; 4) reduce incarceration; 5) increase job opportunities for African Americans.

May I suggest a different concept with only one step: Don’t break the law.

All five of these points would be immediately impacted in a positive manner if the law was obeyed in the first place, regardless of race or color of skin.
