Mary Hofmann: Honest couple found wallet and got it back to owners
A huge shout out to the wonderful couple who found my wallet – contents (including cash and credit cards) scattered in the Costco parking lot – Saturday evening. I didn’t notice its absence until checkout, and while I frantically searched the store and my husband searched the car, this couple had scooped up everything and driven to my house to return it.
With no one home, they returned to Costco, where they found my husband and gave it to him – all contents intact. He was so floored he didn’t get their names and I was still in the store verging on hysteria. What a wonderful gift these people have given us ... restoring our faith in the goodness of most people when we are bombarded by news of tragedy and abuse.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, whoever you are. You made our day and then some!
