Anna Gilbert: Angels were hard at work that fateful night
I would like to thank all the wonderful people who came to my assistance in my time of need. On the evening of Sept. 18, I suffered a major stroke as a result of a blood clot. The 9-1-1 operator, my concerned neighbors (Caren and Jeff), the paramedic crew and the Merced Fire Department were all instrumental at getting me to Mercy Medical Center’s emergency room. As soon as I was brought in, the wonderful doctors and nurses at Mercy took over, quickly assessed the situation, contacted a neurologist and started treatment.
I was treated with great care and understanding. Thank you to Father Thomas from Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church for coming to me, blessing me and praying with me and my family. The Medivac/helicopter crew that flew me to Mercy San Juan in Sacramento – you were fantastic. I believe all of you, and the doctors and nurses at Mercy San Juan Medical Center who were able to remove the clot, saving me from a terrible fate. You where sent in God’s name. Thanks to all who prayed for me and my beautiful family for being with me the whole time. Finally, but not least, thank you God and all the angels you sent to me.
