Gary Brice: Atwater’s reorganization created more efficiency

The Atwater planning commission, parks and recreation commission and traffic commission were combined into one big commission for a one-stop approval for contractors and citizens. Commissioners were selected from each commission to insure knowledge was available in all areas. The new CDRC commission meets the second Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. Commissioners are appointed by the city council and serve for specific terms.

The last time I checked, the city manager is hired by, and reports to the city council. The manager is tasked to enforce the laws the council approves for the citizens of Atwater.

Attend the city council meetings and get your concerns addressed by the council. This is a small town; city council members cannot hide from you.

Gary Brice, Atwater
