Rita F. Silva: Restricting Muslim immigration is just common sense

Donald Trump has created a firestorm of criticism because he wants to halt the entry of Muslims into this country until they can be properly vetted. Even four members of the Obama administration have stated that, at the present time, the government is unable to properly check the backgrounds of Muslims entering our country.

While we are not at war with ISIS, they are certainly at war with us.

There are 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide. Some Muslims celebrated on 9/11 when almost 3,000 Americans were killed by Muslims in New York City. ISIS is a radical faction within the religion that believes in killing anyone who does not believe as they do. ISIS has only about 35,000 fighters and if the rest of the world’s Muslims wanted to stop them, they could easily do so.

It is just common sense to restrict Muslim immigration until we can make sure that they are not coming here to cause harm.
