Kathleen O’Sullivan: Merced Drug Court is reclaiming lost lives

I would like to recognize Merced’s Drug Court program. My son is in it and though he has a long way to go and I am just getting to know a little bit about it and I am truly impressed with the judge and staff.

I saw four people graduating from this program and it is a wonderful thing to see lost souls become whole again and get their lives back. Yesterday we added four people to the productive society here in Merced and that was a huge blessing for everyone.

I’d like to say thank you to the staff and judge for doing such a great job with these people and also add that they have a most difficult job but it also has to be so satisfying to be able to help the people who get through the process. I don’t know what kind of support others can give, but if you are able and interested it would be a blessing to the lives of these people and their families to receive outside support. Also, thanks to the Hobie House and other places that give these people housing and programs to turn their lives around.

Kathleen O’Sullivan, Merced
