David Rodriguez: Time for three new faces on board of supervisors

Meritorious kudos to Sheriff Vern Warnke and District Attorney Larry Morse II for addressing the board of supervisors about their lack of vision and input pertaining to hiring and compensation for law enforcement. They voiced concerns that many of us share but never get a chance to express.

The safety of all is a major issue, but for the past years the board has failed to move forward. Their discretionary fund has always been a issue. One item that has failed to surface is their lifetime benefits that supervisors receive after a third term. That will cost Merced County taxpayers a considerable amount for years to come.

Of course, it is election time and the incumbents will repeat the same rhetoric just to get re-elected. Which brings up an old adage: Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Therefore I support Rodrigo Espinoza for district 1, Lee Lor for district 2 and Fidel Cervantes for district 4.
