Chuck Schultz: Wasn’t there a better location for a new tire store?
On the corner or Olive and Meadows avenues, they are building a tire store. I won’t mention the name, as they will not be there very long. Besides the fact there is no parking, and it’s almost impossible le to get to, it’s a very poor location . There is a empty tire building (formerly Firestone), at Austin and Olive, has ample parking and is adjacent to Lowe’s. If Firestone couldn’t make it in that prime location, what is a tire company thinking by building a new building in a really bad location? All they have to do is look next door at the closed Chinese restaurant to see their mistake.
It’s great to see new business come into Merced, but why not use an existing building?
If you have ever tried to park near the Subway in the afternoon, you know what I mean. With the Food Maxx parking you still end up half a block from the store.
