Ben Sanchez: Police take too much time to respond to property crime
What has happened in Merced? I lived there 54 years and relocated to Reno three years ago. When I left, the city was bad due to terrible leadership and the lackluster approach of the police to do anything about the crime that has taken over the city. For a perfect example, my daughter called the police to report a crime recently and it took police more then two hours to respond. It will take a miracle for them to recover their stolen car because they don’t really care. I see Merced going down day by day to becoming nothing more than a pimple on the state of California, a sad ending to a once really nice city. Good luck Merced, you’re going to need it.
