Howard Shannon: Want to see inequality? Look at Congressional pay vs. that of a veteran
Hey Bernie, you want to create income inequality? How about income inequlaity between a U.S. Senator or member of the House of Representatives and a retiree/disabled veteran on Social Security? One gets $16,000 a month if you add meal money. That works out to $100 per hour, assuming they put in 40-hour work weeks. The retired veteran, meanwhile, gets $1,275 a month, combined. If he was working for that money, it would be less than $8 per hour.
