Anthony Gallegos: All Obama did was save the country and kill our enemy
Re “No wonder Trump is appealing” (Letters, May 28): The letter writer was blaming all of America’s woes on President Obama, especially the national debt. Republicans at times blame him for causing the recession but Obama inherited a country that was on the verge of another Great Depression. George W. Bush left this country in ruins. Millions lost their jobs and then their homes. Unemployment in the “Rust Belt” was over 25 percent. Those people weren’t paying any taxes. Coupled with Bush securing huge tax breaks for the rich, who weren’t paying their fair share, the coffers went dry!
Two wars were being fought without one nickel budgeted for it. Bush told the country Iraq had promised their oil to pay for the war.
Jeb Bush told us “My brother kept us safe.” I believe the family members strill grieving over the 2,700 who died on 9-11 would disagree with that. George Bush was asked about Osama Bin Laden, and said, “I don’t even think about bin Laden.” The one thing Republicans will not blame Obama for is tracking down bin Laden and killing him!
