Maxwell Norton: Sun-Star right, without water we’ll lose more jobs

Re” State’s water grab must be challenged” (Opinions, Jan. 24): Your publisher’s editorial correctly illustrated how important developed water will is to our economy. If you fly around the region and count up all the “big roofs” most of them will be ag/food processing. Everyone will attempt to replace developed water with ground water but that will only suffice for a short time. So-called “low-water use” crops often have fewer jobs associated with them and less value added at those “big roof” factories.
