Jarred Simmons: Gun control rules don’t work elsewhere or here
Western Europe, which includes France, has one of the most restrictive “gun control” solutions in the world. Given that, one would assume there would be no terrorism in Western Europe and the Paris terrorist attack would not have occurred.
In the San Bernadino terrorist attack, the shooters even waited the mandatory 7-day waiting period to receive their assault rifle, battlefield gun or weapon of war, as the ATF classifies it. The background check indicates on the paperwork you sign (under the penalty of perjury) the gun type (“long gun”).
The Orlando attacker converted his gun to full-auto, breaking federal rules and then used it in a “gun free zone.” Along those same lines, if we can’t name it terrorism but name a gun and try to ban them, we can then name it terrorism and ban terrorists (who, by the way, hate everything about America, including our gun laws). But let’s ignore the Orlando terrorist and ban a least the correct gun that he used, a SIG Sauer MXC long gun, which has no interchangeable parts with an AR-15 except the color black.
Lastly can’t we just rename the Second Amendment for simplicity and convenience, too?
